We will develop an individual care plan which will set out requirements, personal goals and how we are going to achieve those goals. From the moment you step into St Mary’s Mount a warm welcome awaits you, the atmosphere is friendly, homely and the care that we provide for our residents caters to the specific needs of the individual and is based on promoting choice and independence in a dignified manner.
We have two chefs who provide our residents with nutritious home cooked meals, to meet all dietary requirements. (Diabetes, Gluten free, vegetarian and plant based diets) our chefs will spend time with our residents to ensure that they have the choice to eat their meals in the area of their choosing either in the dining room or their own personal bedroom. We also provide a choice of snacks and drinks throughout the day.

“I’ve just been to Tesco Express and what I’ve just witnessed has really heartened me. A resident called Margaret from St Mary’s Mount was being wheeled around by a young man. I know her name as he constantly spoke to her while they were shopping. As they were leaving it was raining and she had just a little jacket on, he bent down to her and told her he was taking his fleece off and covering her head and shoulders so she wouldn’t get wet. My word, whoever this young man is, he is a credit, I witnessed nothing but love and respect towards this lady, just wonderful”.

We have an activities co-ordinator who plans stimulating events and an activities programme with our residents that is enjoyable for all. They arrange for entertainers to visit, these include singers, exercise classes, flower arrangers, and many more. Residents are offered the opportunity to go on various outings including tea dances, shopping trips and meals on a regular basis. We also have movie nights, games afternoons, cake making, crafts and pets therapy visits. We also have two mini buses that we use to take our residents on scenic drives.
